HONOR 600 Pro Review: Premium Ambitions Realized
For years, HONOR’s Number Series has been the reliable middle child—capable, stylish, but always living in the shadow of the Magic flagship line. With the release of the HONOR 600 Pro, that dynamic has officially shifted. This isn’t just an incremental update; it’s a graduation. HONOR has taken everything they learned from their ultra-premium tier and distilled it into a device that challenges the very definition of "mid-range."
The "Familiar" Design Language
Let’s address the elephant in the
room: the design. At first glance, the HONOR 600 Pro bears a striking
resemblance to the iPhone 17 Pro, particularly with its new triangular camera
arrangement and the "Golden White" and "Orange" colorways.
However, the build quality has
graduated beyond plastic. The 600 Pro features a precision-carved unibody with matte
aluminum side rails and a smudge-resistant rear panel. It feels dense,
expensive, and remarkably durable, boasting an IP69K rating—meaning it
can survive high-pressure water jets and serious dust exposure.
A Display That Breaks Records
The front of the device is where
HONOR truly outshines its inspiration. The 6.57-inch AMOLED panel features 0.98mm
bezels—currently the thinnest on the market. It creates an almost
"all-screen" effect that makes even the most expensive flagships look
dated.
·
Peak Brightness: A staggering (and perhaps theoretical) 8,000 nits.
·
Eye Care: 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker.
·
Visuals: 120Hz refresh rate with 10-bit color depth.
Performance: Flagship Power, Mid-Range Price
Under the hood, the graduation is
complete. Moving away from mid-tier silicon, the 600 Pro runs on the Snapdragon
8 Elite platform. This is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, allowing it to
handle intensive titles like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves at
max settings without breaking a sweat.
The battery tech is equally
impressive. HONOR has packed a 6,400mAh silicon-carbon battery into a
frame that is only 7.8mm thick. In real-world testing, this easily translates
to two full days of moderate use.
The 200MP "Night Owl" Camera
The camera system is headlined by a 200MP
main sensor (1/1.4-inch). While the hardware remains similar to the previous
generation, the software processing has matured.
1.
AI RAW Model: Enhances low-light clarity by 50%.
2.
Telephoto: A dedicated 50MP lens with 3.5x optical zoom (and up to
120x digital).
3.
AI Image to Video
2.0: A new feature that allows you to
generate 5-second video clips from a single still image using on-device
generative AI.
Verdict: Is it time to graduate?
The HONOR 600 Pro is no longer
"good for the money." It is simply good.
