Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review: Is It Finally Time to Fold
The foldable phone market continues
to evolve, and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 proves just how far the technology has
come. With a slimmer design, improved durability, and smarter AI features, this
latest foldable aims to deliver both productivity and premium performance in
one device.

It’s been six years since Samsung first asked us to believe in a folding future. Back then, it felt like a fragile experiment. Today, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 arrives with a clear mission: to prove that the foldable hasn't just arrived—it’s matured.
Design:
Slimmer, Sharper, Better
The first thing you’ll notice when
picking up the Z Fold 6 is the weight. At 239g, it has shed
significant "pocket bulk," making it only slightly heavier than a
standard S24 Ultra.
·
The New
Aesthetic: Samsung has ditched the rounded
curves for a sharper, more industrial look. It feels incredibly premium.
·
The Cover Screen: It’s slightly wider (6.3 inches). While it’s only a few
millimeters, typing on the front screen finally feels like using a
"normal" phone rather than a narrow TV remote.
·
Durability: We finally have an IP48 rating. While it’s not
"beach-proof" yet, that "4" means it can now handle small
particles (like crumbs or lint) better than previous generations.
The
Display: 2,600 Nits of Glory
Both the inner 7.6-inch and outer
6.3-inch displays now hit a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
Why it matters: Even under direct high-noon sunlight, this screen is
perfectly legible.
The crease is still there, but
thanks to a redesigned hinge and thicker layers, it’s the most subtle it has
ever been. When you’re watching a movie or scrolling through Chrome, it
virtually disappears.
Performance
& Galaxy AI
Under the hood is the Snapdragon8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. It is, quite simply, a beast. Whether I was running three
apps at once or playing Genshin Impact, the phone didn't even break a
sweat.
The Real Star: Sketch to Image
The new AI features are more than
just gimmicks. My favorite? Sketch to Image. You can draw a crude hat on
a photo of your dog, and the AI will render a realistic-looking cowboy hat in
seconds. Is it essential? No. Is it the most fun I’ve had with a phone feature
this year? Absolutely.
The
"Same Old" Problems
It wouldn't be a fair review without
mentioning where Samsung played it safe:
1.
The Cameras: The hardware is nearly identical to the Fold 5. You’ll get
great photos, but if you’re looking for the 100x Space Zoom or the monster
sensor of the S24 Ultra, you won't find it here.
2.
Charging Speeds: We are still stuck at 25W wired charging. In a world
where competitors are hitting 65W or 100W, waiting over an hour for a full
charge feels dated.
3.
The Price: At $1,899, it’s $100 more expensive than last year.

Thoughts: Should You Buy It?
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a masterclass
in refinement. It doesn't reinvent the wheel because it doesn't have to;
it just makes the wheel lighter, brighter, and smarter.
·
Buy it if: You want the best multitasking device on the planet and the
peace of mind that comes with Samsung’s 7-year update promise.
·
Skip it if: You already own a Z Fold 5, or if you are a
"camera-first" user who needs the absolute best zoom lenses
available.
Rating: 4.5/5
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 isn’t a radical
upgrade—but it doesn’t need to be. Samsung has focused on refining what already
works, making the device slimmer, stronger, and smarter.
If you’re looking for the best
foldable experience available today, the Z Fold 6 is still at the top of the list.
